If you have a customer relation management tool (CRM), and a WordPress website, you may have encountered this problem: How can you link the contacts and data from your WordPress site to your CRM?
Outfunnel is a plugin and service that solves that pain point by letting you sync contacts and contact activity from your WordPress website to your CRM of choice.
The goal is to “connect sales and market data deeply and easily” in order to gain a better understanding of your customers and increase your revenue.
In our hands-on Outfunnel review, we’re going to take a deeper look at this tool and show you can use it to connect WordPress with your CRM (though it also supports platforms other than WordPress).
Outfunnel Review: A Look at the Features
Outfunnel allows you to sync contacts from your WordPress site ( or other platforms like Wix ), to your CRM. But it doesn’t just sync contact data, it also helps you sync each contact’s website and email activity.
For example, your CRM can show you when visitors visited your site and from where, what forms they filled out, the emails they opened, or how they responded to them.
Outfunnel connects your marketing data (website, email) and sales data (CRM), so you can grow your company more efficiently.
It offers many features to help you accomplish this.
The main feature that we’re going to focus on in this review is the app connector. This allows you to connect your WordPress website with your CRM to automatically sync contacts from your WordPress forms into your CRM. To sync marketing emails to your CRM, you can connect your CRM with your email marketing tool.
Outfunnel allows you to track web activity and sync it to your CRM. You can create a note in your CRM for each contact who visits your site.
Outfunnel offers more than just these features:
- Campaigns – you can send one-off or automatic email campaigns from your Outfunnel dashboard and sync all of the engagement data to your CRM. You can track who opened, clicked and responded.
- Contacts – you can view all of your contacts in Outfunnel (as well as your CRM) and create detailed segments.
- Lead scoring – you can set up your own custom rules to score your leads and sync that data to your CRM.
Outfunnel App Connector Integrations
Currently, the Outfunnel WordPress plugin supports the following CRM tools as your destination:
Additionally, Outfunnel also integrates with popular WordPress form plugins so that you can sync form data to your CRM.
Currently, Outfunnel supports the Elementor Form widget and Contact Form 7, which is a bit limiting.
But, they are also developing integrations for WPForms and Gravity Forms. These will cover the majority of the most popular options. Once those integrations are available, I think most people will be fine choosing one of the options.
Those integrations are coming soon, so they might be here by the time you’re reading our Outfunnel review.
Outfunnel can also be used with Mailchimp or ActiveCampaign. For example, if you’re using both Pipedrive and ActiveCampaign (along with WordPress), you can sync your ActiveCampaign data to your Pipedrive CRM and connect it with your WordPress contacts.
Finally we want to focus on WordPress in our Outfunnel Review. However, Outfunnel works with many other websites platforms including a Wix integration.

Next, connect Outfunnel with your CRM. You have three options:
I’m using Pipedrive for this example.
You can set this up by choosing your CRM in the App connector tab and clicking Authenticate:
For Pipedrive, and I imagine other CRMs), it is as simple as clicking a button on a popup:
3. Configure the WordPress Plugin
Next choose the WordPress form plugin you wish to connect to your CRM.
Again, Outfunnel currently supports the Elementor Form widget and Contact Form 7, with support for WPForms and Gravity Forms coming in September 2021 and Ninja Forms later in Q4.
Once you’ve chosen your form plugin, you click Configure:
This popup will display three pieces of information. This popup will contain three pieces of information.
Next, open a new browser tab and visit your WordPress dashboard:

4. Finish Setting Up Your Form Connection
Now, head back to the Outfunnel dashboard and click the Confirm installation button on the popup.
Then, click the Create Connection button:
This will allow you to connect certain forms to your CRM.
First, select the form you wish to track from the dropdown. Outfunnel will automatically detect these forms from your chosen WordPress form plugin.
Next, you can map your fields to the Pipedrive fields. Outfunnel will detect all fields automatically, making mapping easy.
All you have to do is use drop-downs to tell Outfunnel which part of Pipedrive you wish to add:
You don’t have to map all your form fields. If you need, you can just skip some.
Further down, you have the option to choose how new submissions will be recorded in CRM. Outfunnel currently only supports the recording of them as activity. They are currently working to add the option to modify a custom field within your CRM. This will allow you to make a decision as you read this.
Below that you will see an option to allow web tracking. Outfunnel will track web visits of leads who fill out this form. This will allow Outfunnel to track the web visits of leads who fill out this form.
You already configured this when you installed the WordPress plugin. Outfunnel will enable it automatically.
And that’s all! To make your connection live, scroll back to the top of the page and click Activate.
5. Send Some Test Submissions
Now, you can fill out the form to make sure it’s working – Outfunnel should sync the data to your CRM within 30 seconds.
This is where you can see a new Contact in Pipedrive by submitting a Contact Form 7 Submission. It’s also possible to see the activity for form submissions:
6. Configure Web Analytics
Configure the web analytics after you have set up the app connector. You can do this from the Web tab in the Outfunnel dashboard.
This tab serves two main purposes.
- You can view basic visitor activity data.

To control how Outfunnel syncs web tracking from your WordPress site to your CRM, you can go to the Engagement Recording tab:
While the Outfunnel WordPress plug-in is available for free at WordPress.org you will need to have an Outfunnel account in order to use it.

Final Thoughts on Outfunnel
Overall I found Outfunnel very user-friendly and delivered on its promises.
I think it depends on your needs and what you are looking for. There are many tools available that can sync contacts to your CRM for a single event.
Where I think Outfunnel adds value is that it also lets you sync website visits/activity (and email engagement) to your CRM. You’re not only syncing contacts; you are also syncing how contacts interact with your website, emails and other communications.
If you require this functionality, Outfunnel provides an easy way to set it all up as well as additional features such as lead scoring and the ability send emails.
Outfunnel is very easy to use. It takes only a few minutes to get started. You also get a 14-day trial with no credit card needed.
